AI usage limits

Pro plan includes 200 AI operations per month. Learn what counts as an operation and how to track usage.

Last updated: 12 April 2026

Trovvana’s Pro plan includes 200 AI operations per month. This limit ensures consistent performance for all users while giving you plenty of room to plan detailed, research-rich trips.

What counts as an AI operation

Each of the following actions uses one AI operation:

  • Generating a place summary — When you add a place and click the generate summary button (or it runs automatically), Trovvana uses AI to create a concise overview with practical tips and family-friendliness details. This counts as one operation.
  • Regenerating a place summary — If you want a fresh summary for a place you have already summarized, the regeneration counts as a new operation.
  • Auto-fetching place details from Google — When you paste a Google Maps URL or use the place search, Trovvana enriches the entry with address, hours, rating, photos, and other data from Google Places. Each enrichment request counts as one operation.

What does not count

These actions are free and unlimited on all plans:

  • Creating or editing trips
  • Adding places manually (typing in a name, category, and notes)
  • Dragging and dropping places in your itinerary
  • Viewing the map and markers
  • Exporting a trip to PDF
  • Viewing previously generated summaries (they are cached and do not use a new operation)

Tracking your usage

You can check how many AI operations you have used at any time.

  1. Open the Trovvana app and go to Settings.
  2. Scroll to the Billing section.
  3. Look for the AI Usage bar.

The usage bar shows your current consumption out of 200 operations for the month. It updates in real time as you use AI features.

When your usage resets

Your AI operation count resets on your monthly billing date. For example, if your Pro subscription renews on the 15th of each month, your 200 operations reset on the 15th.

Unused operations do not roll over to the next month.

What happens when you hit the limit

If you reach 200 operations before your billing cycle resets, AI-powered features are temporarily paused:

  • The generate summary button will be disabled, and you will see a message indicating you have reached your monthly limit.
  • Google Places auto-enrichment will not run automatically. You can still add places manually by entering details yourself.
  • Walking reachability maps remain available since they do not count as AI operations.

All other features continue working normally. Your existing summaries and enriched place data are not affected.

Once your next billing cycle begins, your operation count resets to zero and AI features are re-enabled automatically.

AI features on the Basic plan

AI operations are not available on the Basic plan. The generate summary button, Google Places auto-enrichment, and other AI-powered features are exclusive to Pro. If you are on Basic and want to try these features, you can upgrade to Pro at any time from the Billing section in Settings.

Tips for managing your operations

  • Review before regenerating — Summaries are usually accurate on the first generation. Only regenerate if the information is outdated or you want a different angle.
  • Batch your planning — Adding several places in one session is more efficient than adding a few at a time over many days, since you can review and enrich them together.
  • Use manual entry for simple places — If you already know the address and details for a place, add it manually instead of using auto-enrichment. Save your AI operations for places where you need the research help.

Two hundred operations per month is typically enough to plan three to five detailed family trips. Most users do not come close to the limit during normal use.
