Managing your subscription
How to upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your Trovvana subscription through the billing portal.
Last updated: 12 April 2026
Trovvana uses Stripe to handle all billing and subscription management. You can update your payment method, change your plan, or cancel your subscription at any time without contacting support.
Accessing the billing portal
- Open the Trovvana app and navigate to Settings.
- Scroll to the Billing section.
- Click the Manage Subscription button.
This opens the Stripe customer portal in a new tab. The portal is a secure, hosted page managed by Stripe where you can make changes to your subscription directly.
Updating your payment method
Inside the Stripe customer portal, you can add a new credit or debit card, remove an expired card, or set a different card as your default payment method. Changes take effect immediately, and your next billing cycle will charge the updated card.
If a payment fails due to an expired or declined card, Stripe will retry the charge a few times over the following days. You will receive an email notification so you can update your payment details before your account is affected.
Switching between monthly and yearly billing
You can switch your billing frequency at any time from the Stripe portal.
- Monthly to yearly — You will be charged the yearly rate immediately, prorated for any remaining time on your current monthly cycle. This saves you roughly 17% over the year.
- Yearly to monthly — The switch takes effect at the end of your current yearly period. You will not be charged monthly until your prepaid year expires.
Upgrading from Basic to Pro
If you are on the Basic plan and want access to AI summaries, Google Places auto-enrichment, and walking reachability maps, you can upgrade to Pro from the billing portal.
- Open the Stripe customer portal from the Billing section in Settings, then click Manage Subscription.
- Select Update plan.
- Choose the Pro plan.
- Confirm the change.
The upgrade is applied immediately. You will be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of your current billing period, and then the full Pro rate on your next renewal.
Downgrading from Pro to Basic
If you no longer need the Pro features, you can downgrade to Basic.
- Open the Stripe customer portal.
- Select Update plan.
- Choose the Basic plan.
When you downgrade, you keep Pro features until the end of your current billing period. After that, AI summaries, auto-enrichment, and walking reachability maps will no longer be available. Your existing data — including any previously generated summaries — stays intact.
Canceling your subscription
You can cancel your Trovvana subscription at any time.
- Open the Stripe customer portal.
- Click Cancel plan.
- Confirm the cancellation.
Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. You will not be charged again after cancellation, and you can continue using Trovvana until the period expires.
After your subscription ends, your account and trip data are preserved. You can log in and view your trips, but editing features will be restricted until you resubscribe.
Reactivating a canceled subscription
Changed your mind? You can reactivate your subscription at any time.
- Go to the Billing section in Settings.
- Click Manage Subscription.
- Choose a plan and re-enter your payment details if needed.
Your trips, places, and all associated data will be exactly as you left them. Nothing is deleted when you cancel.
Billing questions
If you have a billing question that is not covered here, reach out through the feedback page in the app or check your email for Stripe receipts and invoice history. Stripe also provides a receipt and invoice for every charge, accessible directly from the customer portal.
