TROVVANA

The guided tour and sample trip

Trovvana includes a guided tour and sample Rome trip to help you learn the app. Here's how to access them.

Last updated: 12 April 2026

When you first sign up for Trovvana, the app walks you through an interactive guided tour and loads a sample trip so you can explore every feature before planning your own vacation. This article explains what the tour covers, how the sample trip works, and how to revisit the tour at any time.

The onboarding tour

The guided tour starts automatically the first time you open Trovvana after creating your account. It is a 10-step walkthrough that highlights key parts of the interface and explains what each one does. The tour uses tooltips that point to specific areas of the screen, so you can see exactly where each feature lives.

What the tour covers

  1. Welcome intro. A brief welcome message to get you started.
  2. Your Trips. The trip selector, where you choose which trip to work on.
  3. Organize by Day. The day filter, which lets you focus the map on a single day.
  4. Your Places. The list of places in the sidebar, grouped by day.
  5. Add Places. The Add Place button, where you create new places for your trip.
  6. Your Map. The map area, where your places appear as color-coded markers.
  7. Export Your Itinerary. The Export PDF button, which generates a shareable PDF of your trip.
  8. Settings & More. The user menu, where you can access settings and other options.
  9. Create Your Own Trip. The create trip button, so you can start planning your own vacation.
  10. You’re All Set!. A completion message confirming you are ready to go.

Each step includes a brief description and a Next button to advance. You can also click Skip at any point if you prefer to explore on your own.

The sample Rome trip

Alongside the tour, Trovvana loads a sample trip titled “Family trip to Rome” into your account. This pre-built itinerary includes several days of places across Rome, complete with categories, costs, notes, and day assignments.

The sample trip is designed to show you what a fully planned itinerary looks like in Trovvana. You can interact with it just like any trip you create yourself:

  • Click on markers to see place details.
  • Use the day filter to focus on one day at a time.
  • Drag and drop places in the sidebar to reorder them.
  • Open the cost breakdown to see how spending is distributed across categories.
  • Export it as a PDF to see what the final output looks like.

The sample trip is a regular trip in your account. You can edit it, add new places to it, or delete it entirely whenever you are ready. It will not interfere with any trips you create.

How to restart the tour

If you skipped the tour or want to go through it again, you can restart it from the Settings page.

  1. Open Settings from the user menu.
  2. Scroll to the Product Tour section.
  3. Click Restart Tour, and the next time you open a trip the 10-step tour will start again from the beginning.

This is useful if you skipped ahead the first time and later want a refresher on features like cost tracking or PDF export.

Tips for getting the most out of the tour

  • Follow along with the sample trip. The tour steps correspond to features you can try immediately on the sample Rome trip. Interacting with each feature as it is explained helps the workflow stick.
  • Take your time. The tour does not expire or disappear. Each step waits for you to click Next, so there is no rush.
  • Come back to it. Even experienced users sometimes restart the tour after new features are released to see updated guidance.

Once you have finished the tour and explored the sample trip, you are ready to create your own trip and start planning your next family adventure.
